Imagine a fundraising campaign that you can set up and forget about. It’s raising money for your cause while you are doing the work to achieve your mission.
Even better, your donors can give to your cause while doing things like internet searches, walking, shopping, and selling things on eBay. Here are some programs to help you easily raise money while your donors do their normal activities.
Give with Bing
Let’s say you have supporters who search the internet once in a while. (I’m going out on a limb to say you do.) Your nonprofit can participate in a giving campaign at Give with Bing. Your supporters sign up for Microsoft Rewards and earn points for every search they do on Bing’s search engine. Rewards members can donate their points to a charity, and Microsoft turns the points into a cash donation for the donor’s cause of choice.
Charity Miles
Donors can turn their movement into donations through Charity Miles. The company donates cash to charities based on movement tracked in its app. For every mile a donor moves, they help earn money for your charity funded by the app’s corporate sponsors or the donor’s network.
Donors can download the Charity Miles app and their phone’s internal pedometer and GPS will track their distance and activities. You can earn dollars as your donors log different types of movement including running, walking, dancing, and biking.
Using the app, your organization can host virtual runs, walks, and other activities. Donors can create their own fundraising page encouraging their family and friends to make pledges to support their participation in your virtual event.
The program is currently full but has a waitlist for nonprofit organizations looking to participate.
Giving Assistant
Most of us shop, either as a leisure activity or to find a specific item. Either way, shoppers can earn rebates at participating businesses and pass along the cash value to a cause they support.
It begins when you set up a Giving Assistant fundraising page. Supporters create Giving Assistant accounts, designating their cause and set the percentage of their rebate they want to donate. Over 3,000 brands participate, in a range of categories. Charity Assistant also has events throughout the year that increase the value of donations.
eBay for Charity
eBay for Charity makes it easy for sellers to donate some or all of the proceeds from their listings. eBay sellers choose a charity and set the percentage of sales to go to it.
Once your organization enrolls in the program, you will be listed on the company’s website as a registered charity. This not only helps you receive donations from current donors, but it’s also a simple marketing tool to attract new donors.
So, there you have it. Those were four ways your organization can raise funds through programs designed to turn everyday activities into donations! Making giving easy for donors is a great way to raise money, and it doesn’t get much easier than this!
